Back on the Trail: Tahoe Rim Trail Days 5-7
After a day of rest and resupply in Tahoe City, the author and fellow hikers return to the Tahoe Rim Trail, facing new challenges and scenic views.

After a well-deserved break in Tahoe City, the author and their hiking companions, Palmer and Liam, set out once again on the Tahoe Rim Trail. The group had spent the previous day resupplying food, doing laundry, and even grabbing a new tent floor from the local hardware store.
## A Leisurely Day in Tahoe City
The highlight of their stay in Tahoe City was a visit to a local dive bar, where they enjoyed a delicious dinner of Birria Tacos and relaxed by the pool. The locals were friendly and welcoming, making for a memorable evening.
## Back on the Trail
The next day, the group set off once again, with Palmer and Liam making good time up the trail. The author, however, was struggling to keep up, finding the first day back on the trail to be particularly challenging. The views were not as spectacular as the previous days, and the group had to navigate through areas with heavy bike traffic.
| Trail Day | Miles | Elevation Gain | | --- | --- | --- | | Day 5 | 8 | 1,000 ft | | Day 6 | 22 | 2,000 ft | | Day 7 | 10 | 1,500 ft |
## Camp Life
The group stopped to rest and refuel at a scenic viewpoint, where they laid in the dirt and enjoyed their lunch. They also met another TRT hiker and started a campfire, feeling like they had formed a little trail family.
## Challenges and Triumphs
The morning of day seven was brutal for the author, who struggled with their water filter and experienced shooting pain in their right hip. However, they were able to persevere and eventually made it to the Nevada State Line, where they stopped to refuel and take in the views.
